To assess, plan, and implement physiotherapy interventions for children with physical, developmental, or neurological conditions, supporting motor function, strength, balance, coordination, and mobility. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enable each child to achieve their optimal physical potential in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess physical development, posture, muscle tone, strength, range of motion, motor skills, balance, gait, and coordination.
Diagnose and develop individualized physiotherapy treatment plans based on assessment outcomes and child's needs.
Deliver evidence-based therapy to children with conditions such as:
Cerebral Palsy
Developmental Delay
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Down Syndrome
Musculoskeletal or neuromuscular disorders
Use therapeutic exercises, neurodevelopmental techniques (NDT), motor relearning, and play-based movement activities.
Work with caregivers to train them in home programs, posture correction, daily mobility aids, and safety.
Set short-term and long-term functional goals with regular progress tracking and documentation.
Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, special educators, and paediatricians for holistic care.
Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatments, progress reports, and session notes.
Educate parents and caregivers about the child's physical condition, expected outcomes, and strategies to support therapy at home.
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case discussions, and parent review meetings.
Support community awareness, screening, or outreach programs when required.
Ensure a safe and child-friendly therapeutic environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physiotherapy (BPT / MPT), preferably with specialization in Paediatrics / Neurology.
Registration:
Registered with relevant State or National Physiotherapy Council.
Experience:
1-3 years in pediatric or developmental settings preferred. Freshers with internships in pediatric rehab can also apply.
Strong understanding of childhood motor development, pediatric conditions, and therapeutic techniques.
Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to engage with children and counsel families empathetically.
Effective team player in a multidisciplinary setting.
Strong documentation and organizational skills.
Patience, creativity, adaptability, and a genuine passion for working with children.
