You will play a key role in helping patients manage pain, improve physical function, and regain independence through evidence-based therapy practices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Assessment and Diagnosis
Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess physical capabilities, limitations, pain levels, and health conditions.
Review patient medical histories and collaborate with healthcare providers as needed.
Establish accurate physical diagnoses to guide individualized treatment plans.
2. Developing Treatment Plans
Create tailored rehabilitation programs based on each patient's goals, abilities, and medical needs.
Set realistic, measurable objectives to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance.
3. Implementing Therapeutic Interventions
Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and mobility activities.
Utilize hands-on techniques such as massage and joint mobilization.
Educate patients on at-home exercises to support continued recovery.
4. Utilizing Modalities and Equipment
Operate rehabilitation tools and equipment (e.g., treadmills, resistance bands, balance boards).
Apply pain management modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold therapy.
5. Patient Education and Counseling
Instruct patients on injury prevention, proper body mechanics, and ergonomic practices.
Offer guidance on lifestyle changes to promote long-term health and prevent re-injury.
6. Documentation and Progress Tracking
Maintain accurate records of evaluations, treatment sessions, and patient progress.
Modify treatment plans as needed based on clinical response and recovery trends.
7. Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals
Work closely with physicians, occupational therapists, nurses, sports scientists, and other team members to coordinate care.
Refer patients to specialists when conditions fall outside the PT scope of practice.
8. Continued Professional Development
Stay updated on current trends, techniques, and innovations in physical therapy.
Participate in relevant training sessions and certification programs.
Qualifications
Degree in Physical Therapy (Bachelor's, Master's).
Valid state licensure or eligibility to practice as a Physical Therapist.
CPR/BLS certification preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
Empathy, patience, and the ability to motivate patients through their recovery journey.
