Position Overview
The Physician Assistant (PA) at Dr. Rahul's Elder Care plays a key clinical role in delivering high-quality, compassionate medical support to older adults across assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home-based care programs. The PA works closely with consulting physicians to assess residents, monitor chronic conditions, coordinate treatments, and ensure continuity of care, while maintaining excellent communication with families, staff, and management.
Key Responsibilities1. Resident Assessment & Clinical Support
Conduct routine medical assessments, vital monitoring, and symptom evaluation for residents.
Identify early signs of deterioration and promptly escalate to the supervising physician.
Assist physicians during rounds across assisted living homes, nursing homes, and home visits.
Support physicians in managing acute and chronic medical conditions.
2. Care Coordination & Follow-Up
Implement care plans as advised by the physician and ensure accurate documentation.
Coordinate with nursing staff, physiotherapists, caregivers, and other allied health professionals.
Follow up on diagnostics (lab reports, imaging, etc.) and update treating doctors.
Ensure correct medication administration and support medication reconciliation.
3. Patient & Family Communication
Provide clear updates to families regarding the resident's health status and care plan.
Educate patients and caregivers on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.
4. Emergency Response
Serve as the first responder for medical emergencies at facilities.
Stabilize the patient and coordinate ambulance support, hospital transfer, and physician communication.
5. Home-Based Medical Support
Visit home-based care patients as scheduled and perform clinical checkups.
Ensure adherence to treatment protocols and escalate concerns to the supervising physician.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate medical records in EMR/logbooks.
Update daily reports for physicians and management.
Assist in preparing monthly clinical summaries.
7. Quality & Compliance
Ensure all clinical activities meet organizational standards and geriatric-care protocols.
Participate in audits, infection control initiatives, and quality improvement programs.
Qualifications & SkillsEducational Qualifications
B.Sc. Physician Assistant / Diploma in Physician Assistant Studies / M.Sc. PA (Preferred).
Registered and certified to practice as a PA (as applicable).
Experience
1-3 years of experience preferred, especially in geriatric care, internal medicine, rehabilitation, or primary care.
Freshers with good communication skills and clinical aptitude may also apply.
Skills Required
Strong clinical assessment skills.
Ability to manage elderly patients with empathy and patience.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Good decision-making skills, especially in emergency situations.
Work Location & Schedule
Rotational duties across:
Assisted Living Homes
Nursing Homes
Home-based care visits
Weekends/holidays based on roster.
