We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our nephrology team. The PA will work under the supervision of a nephrologist to provide high-quality care to patients with kidney-related conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a collaborative team managing chronic kidney disease, dialysis patients, and other renal disorders.
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including histories and physical exams
Diagnose and manage chronic kidney disease (CKD), acute kidney injury (AKI), and hypertension
Monitor and manage patients on hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
Adjust medications and treatment plans based on clinical data and lab results
Assist with management of fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base disorders
Provide pre- and post-transplant support and follow-up care
Order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies
Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals
Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
Document all patient interactions thoroughly and timely in the electronic health record (EHR)
Participate in hospital rounds and respond to inpatient consults as needed
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Previous experience in nephrology, internal medicine, or a related specialty is preferred but not required
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with electronic medical records
