: Physician Assistant (PA)

Location: ATLAS HOSPITALS, TRICHY NABH Accredited Hospital
1. Job Purpose
To assist physicians and consultants in delivering quality medical care, ensuring compliance with NABH standards, patient safety protocols, and institutional policies.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Clinical Responsibilities
Assist consultants during ward rounds, OPD, and procedures.
Record and maintain accurate, complete, and legible patient case sheets as per NABH documentation standards.
Monitor patients' vital signs, progress, and treatment outcomes.
Carry out orders given by the consultants and ensure timely implementation of treatment plans.
Assist in minor surgical or medical procedures under supervision.
Support in pre-operative and post-operative care of patients.
Ensure timely reporting of critical results and changes in patients' condition to the concerned physician.
B. Patient Care and Communication
Provide empathetic and ethical patient care following hospital policy.
Educate patients and attendants about treatment plans, discharge medications, and follow-up visits.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient rights as per NABH guidelines.
C. Documentation and Record Keeping
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in patient files, registers, and electronic systems.
Ensure compliance with NABH requirements on medical record maintenance, confidentiality, and audit readiness.
Assist in preparing discharge summaries and referrals.
D. NABH and Quality Standards
Adhere to NABH standards, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and internal assessments.
Report incidents, near-misses, and sentinel events to the Quality Department.
E. Administrative Responsibilities
Coordinate with nursing and paramedical staff for smooth patient care delivery.
Participate in departmental meetings, CMEs, and training sessions.
Assist in maintaining equipment and inventory related to the department.
3. Qualifications and Experience
Education: B.Sc. / M.Sc. Physician Assistant or equivalent recognized qualification.
Experience: Minimum 1-3 years in a hospital/ Clinical setup (experience in NABH-accredited hospital preferred).
Skills Required:
Clinical decision-making and critical thinking.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of NABH and hospital quality standards.
Proficiency in documentation and EMR systems.
4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Accuracy and timeliness of patient documentation.
Compliance with NABH standards and SOPs.
Patient satisfaction and feedback.
Coordination efficiency with consultants and nursing staff.
Participation in training and quality programs.
5. Work Schedule
As per hospital duty roster (shift-based, including weekends and holidays).
6. Reporting & Accountability
Reports to Consultant / Duty Medical Officer / Medical Superintendent.
Accountable for clinical accuracy, patient safety, and compliance with hospital policies.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
