Job Description

:

  • Examine patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
  • Interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal and inform supervising physician
  • Obtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination and ensure that supervising physician approves the same
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, ECG and laboratory tests under the direction of supervising physician.
  • Assist therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care and infection management.
  • Assist counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens.
  • Provide physicians with assistance during surgery or medical procedures inclusive of pre operating assessment, intra operative assistance.
  • Carryout any other job as and when assigned by the Supervising Physician and Reporting Authority.
  • To participate and contribute to Departmental Quality Initiatives.
  • To be aware of Department s performance and objective.
  • To adhere to the safety norms of hospital, follow both patient, and staff safety rules
  • Post-operative care in recovery/ ward as advised by the treating MRP.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, CME's ; reading technical publications.
  • Serves and protects the health care facility by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, national, state, and local requirements, NABH and Joint Commission on Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) requirements.
  • Maintaining departmental records and statements on a daily basis.
  • The PA is expected to participate in interdisciplinary collaboration in the provision of patient care.
  • Provide direct clinical care to patients and consult with and refer to other health care professionals as indicated in coordination with the treating doctor.
  • Confer with patients or family members to address any follow- up care concerns.
  • Fully document all aspects of patient care and assist with completion of all required documentation.
  • Provide and document clinical instructions as required.
  • Schedules and coordinates surgeries and testing and hospital setting; will collaborate with the physician to see patients in the hospital & in the clinical office environment.
  • Will assist in surgery and provide education to patients & families.
  • On-call duties and rounds
