Job Description

A Physical Education Teacher (PET) job involves designing and delivering fitness curriculam, teaching sports skills, organizing school sports events, and promoting health & wellness to students, focusing on physical development, teamwork, safety, and overall well-being through active participation, skill instruction, performance assessment, and creating a positive, disciplined, and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Instruction:

Develop and teach PE lessons, covering various sports, fitness, health, and safety topics.

Skill Development:

Plan activities to improve students' physical skills, coordination, strength, and sportsmanship.

Event Organization:

Plan and manage intramural/extramural sports, tournaments, and school athletic events.

Assessment & Records:

Evaluate student performance, maintain attendance/progress records, and assess curriculum effectiveness.

Health Promotion:

Educate students on nutrition, healthy habits, and overall wellness.

Safety & Management:

Ensure proper use of equipment, maintain discipline, and ensure a safe environment for all activities.

Collaboration:

Work with other staff, parents, and administration on school-wide initiatives and student needs.
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Education:

Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed/M.P.Ed) or related field.

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of sports science, fitness training, and curriculum guidelines.

Leadership:

Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.

Personal Attributes:

Physically fit, enthusiastic, impartial, disciplined, and a role model for health.
