The Physical Education Teacher (PET) is responsible for planning and delivering a comprehensive physical education program that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and overall student well-being in alignment with international curriculum standards and school values.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Instruction
Plan and deliver age-appropriate Physical Education lessons aligned with international curricula (IB / IGCSE / Cambridge / American or equivalent).
Develop lesson plans that focus on physical fitness, motor skills, sportsmanship, and lifelong healthy habits.
Assess and evaluate students' physical development and progress.
Sports & Activities
Train students in a variety of indoor and outdoor sports, games, and fitness activities.
Identify and nurture athletic talent for school teams and competitions.
Prepare students for inter-school, inter-house, and international sports events.
Health & Safety
Ensure student safety during all physical activities.
Conduct warm-ups, cool-downs, and injury-prevention routines.
Maintain and monitor sports equipment and facilities.
Student Development & Well-Being
Promote teamwork, leadership, discipline, and fair play.
Encourage participation from students of all abilities.
Support students' physical and emotional well-being.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with class teachers, coordinators, and support staff.
Communicate student progress and sports schedules with parents when required.
Support school events, sports days, and extracurricular programs.
Administration & Reporting
Maintain attendance, assessment records, and activity reports.
Assist in planning the annual sports calendar.
Support compliance with school policies and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education / Sports Science or related field
Teaching qualification (B.Ed / PGCE / equivalent) preferred
Experience
Experience teaching Physical Education in an international or reputed school is an advantage.
Familiarity with international curricula and assessment practices is preferred.
