Core Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction:

Explain procedures, answer patient questions, and provide reassurance, particularly for individuals with needle anxiety.

Blood Collection:

Perform venipunctures and finger sticks to collect blood samples for diagnostic testing or donation.

Specimen Handling:

Accurately label, store, and transport specimens to the laboratory, ensuring timely and proper processing.

Infection Control:

Follow aseptic techniques and universal precautions to maintain a clean, sterile, and safe work environment.

Record Keeping:

Document patient information and maintain accurate records in databases or charts.

Equipment Management:

Prepare and maintain necessary supplies such as needles, collection tubes, and vials.

Sample Integrity:

Verify patient identification, collect specimens according to protocol, and ensure proper handling.
