Job Summary



The Phlebotomist - Home Collection is responsible for collecting blood and other specimens from patients at their homes or designated locations. The role involves ensuring accurate sample collection, proper labeling, and safe transportation of specimens to the laboratory for testing while maintaining high standards of patient care, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:



Visit patients' homes or assigned locations to collect blood, urine, and other specimens as requested.
Verify patient identity and ensure accurate labeling of all samples.
Prepare the collection site and use proper techniques to ensure minimal discomfort to the patient.
Handle specimens according to standard procedures to maintain integrity during transport.
Maintain accurate records of all collections, including patient details, test requests, and time of collection.
Follow infection control and safety protocols, including proper disposal of sharps and biohazard materials.
Maintain phlebotomy equipment and ensure sufficient stock of collection supplies.
Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive experience for patients.
Coordinate with laboratory staff to ensure timely sample delivery and report any issues or discrepancies.
Adhere to all relevant healthcare, ethical, and confidentiality guidelines (HIPAA, NABL, etc.).

Qualifications:



Education:

Diploma / Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT or equivalent).

Certification:Certified Phlebotomist preferred.
Experience:1-3 years of experience in phlebotomy, preferably with home collection experience.
License:Valid driver's license or access to reliable transportation (if applicable).
Skills and Competencies:

Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
Basic computer literacy for data entry and record keeping.

Work Environment:



Field-based role involving travel to patient locations.
May require early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday shifts depending on scheduling needs.
Must comply with infection control and safety guidelines at all times.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
