A Veterinary Phlebotomist at Rohana Veterinary Diagnostic Lab is responsible for the safe and accurate collection, handling, and processing of animal blood samples for diagnostic testing. This role supports veterinarians, technicians, and laboratory staff by ensuring high-quality specimen collection and maintaining excellent animal welfare standards.
Key Responsibilities
Collect blood samples from various animal species using proper restraint and venipuncture techniques.
Ensure accurate animal identification and label specimens precisely.
Assist veterinary staff in safely restraining animals to minimize stress and risk.
Maintain clean, sterile, and organized work areas, equipment, and phlebotomy tools.
Follow strict biosafety and infection-control protocols appropriate for animal specimens.
Enter sample information into laboratory information systems (LIS) accurately.
Handle and transport samples according to laboratory quality-assurance guidelines.
Communicate effectively with veterinarians, lab technicians, and clients.
Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of venipuncture techniques for various animal species (small animals, livestock, or exotics depending on lab needs).
Confidence and skill in animal handling and restraint.
Strong attention to detail and excellent labeling/record-keeping skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Education & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Fresher or Experienced can apply.
