The Phlebotomist at the Collection Centre is responsible for collecting blood and other biological samples from walk-in patients at the centre. The role focuses on accurate sample collection, proper labeling, handling, and coordination with the main laboratory for timely processing, while maintaining Medall's quality, hygiene, and patient service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venous and capillary blood collection for walk-in patients at the collection centre.
Verify patient details, test requisitions, and ensure accurate sample labeling.
Follow strict infection control, hygiene, and biomedical waste disposal protocols.
Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of the sample collection area.
Ensure correct entry of collection details in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
Properly store and hand over collected samples to the logistics team or lab technician.
Monitor stock levels of collection materials and inform supervisor for replenishment.
Provide courteous and professional service to patients at all times.
Ensure adherence to Medall and NABL/ISO quality standards.
Qualification & Experience:
Education:
DMLT / MLT / B.Sc (MLT / Life Sciences)
Experience:
0-3 years (Freshers with DMLT can apply)
Certification:
Phlebotomy or Laboratory Technician certification preferred
Skills Required:
Excellent knowledge of venipuncture techniques
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Basic computer literacy (LIS entry)
Attention to detail and accuracy
Professional grooming and patient-centric approach
Work Timings:
Shift-based as per collection centre schedule
Salary Range:
?12,000 - ?17,000 per month (based on experience and qualification)
