The

Pharmacy Manager

will be responsible for overseeing the entire pharmacy operations within the hospital, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining optimum inventory, and upholding the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and patient safety in drug management.

Key Responsibilities:



Supervise and manage all day-to-day pharmacy operations within the hospital. Ensure accurate dispensing of prescribed medications to inpatients and outpatients. Maintain adequate inventory levels and monitor drug expiries and stock rotation. Liaise with doctors and nursing staff for smooth coordination of medication supply. Ensure adherence to hospital policies, NABH standards, and statutory drug regulations. Manage procurement, vendor negotiations, and stock reconciliations. Monitor and control pharmacy expenses while ensuring cost-effectiveness. Train and supervise pharmacists, assistants, and support staff. Maintain detailed records of controlled substances as per regulatory norms. Implement digital pharmacy management systems and maintain data accuracy. Handle audits, inspections, and licensing compliance (Drugs & Cosmetics Act).

Required Qualifications & Experience:



Educational Qualification:

B.Pharm or M.Pharm (Mandatory) from a recognized university. Candidates with an additional certification in Hospital Management will be preferred.

Experience:

Minimum

5-8 years

of experience in a hospital or healthcare-based pharmacy setup. Prior experience in managing a pharmacy team in a NABH-accredited hospital is desirable.

Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations & drug regulations. Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Proficiency in pharmacy management software (HMS / ERP). Ability to ensure compliance with NABH and drug control guidelines.
