We are a growing multi-centre paediatric and neonatology healthcare group with multiple centres across Kerala. As part of our expansion we are setting up a
Central Pharmacy Model
, where medicines and consumables will be procured directly from manufacturers and distributed to all peripheral centres.
We are looking for a
competent, trustworthy, and process-driven professional
to establish and manage this central pharmacy system.
Role Summary
The
Central Pharmacy Manager
will be responsible for
centralized procurement, inventory control across all centres, stock movement monitoring, and centre-wise profitability (P&L) reporting
. The role will report directly to the
Operations Manager
and work closely with accounts, centre coordinators, and pharmacists.
This is a
setup + execution role
, ideal for someone who understands hospital pharmacy operations, supply chain, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Central Procurement & Vendor Management
Plan and execute
central purchase of medicines and consumables directly from manufacturers
.
Negotiate pricing, credit terms, schemes, and supply timelines.
Identify and onboard reliable manufacturers and authorized suppliers.
Ensure compliance with drug laws, documentation, and licensing requirements.
Inventory & Stock Control (Multi-Centre)
Monitor stock levels at
each peripheral centre pharmacy
.
Plan stock distribution from central pharmacy to centres based on consumption.
Control overstocking, understocking, expiries, and slow-moving items.
Implement batch-wise, expiry-wise, and centre-wise stock tracking systems.
Coordinate inter-centre stock transfers when required.
Reporting & MIS
Prepare
centre-wise pharmacy P&L reports
.
Track purchase vs sales margins, expiry loss, and inventory turnover.
Share
weekly and monthly MIS reports
with the Operations Manager.
Support audits and internal reviews with accurate data.
Process Setup & Compliance
Establish SOPs for central purchasing, storage, distribution, and documentation.
Ensure cold-chain compliance and proper storage conditions.
Coordinate with accounts for billing, payments, and reconciliation.
Support HMS / ERP integration for pharmacy and inventory tracking.
Qualifications & Requirements
D.Pharm / B.Pharm (Mandatory).
Valid Pharmacy Council Registration (preferred).
Minimum
3-6 years experience
in hospital pharmacy / central purchase / supply chain.
Strong understanding of
hospital pharmacy operations and inventory management
.
Experience handling
multi-location stock
is a major advantage.
Good analytical and reporting skills (Excel mandatory).
Ability to work independently and take ownership of systems.
