The Pharmacy Incharge will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring accurate dispensing of medicines, maintaining stock levels, managing staff, and adhering to hospital and regulatory guidelines. The role demands excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage the pharmacy department's day-to-day operations.
Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently.
Monitor and maintain optimum stock of drugs and consumables.
Check expiry dates and ensure proper storage conditions for medicines.
Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and purchase departments for timely availability of drugs.
Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Maintain records of prescriptions, narcotics, and controlled drugs as per legal guidelines.
Train, supervise, and guide pharmacy staff.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and government regulations.
Handle audits, billing verifications, and insurance-related pharmacy documentation.
Provide counseling to patients on prescribed medications when required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm / M.Pharm / Pharm.D).
Valid Pharmacy Council Registration.
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in hospital pharmacy, with supervisory/managerial exposure preferred.
Strong knowledge of drug interactions, dosages, and regulatory standards.
Good communication and leadership skills.
Ability to manage staff and multitask under pressure.
