Job Description

The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, ensuring patient safety, providing drug information and counseling, and complying with legal and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

Dispense prescription medications accurately as per doctor's orders Review prescriptions for appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and allergies Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and storage Maintain proper records of drugs dispensed and inventory Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, hospital policies, and safety guidelines Monitor drug expiry dates and manage stock efficiently Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and healthcare staff when required Handle billing, insurance, and documentation (if applicable) Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Diploma in Pharmacy (B.Pharm / D.Pharm) Registered with the State Pharmacy Council Valid license to practice

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of medicines and dosages Attention to detail and accuracy Good communication and patient-counseling skills Ability to work independently and in a team Basic computer and billing software knowledge
