To assist the Pharmacy team in daily operations, ensure accurate dispensing of medications, maintain inventory, support patient care services, and uphold compliance with hospital pharmacy standards to ensure safety and efficiency.
Assist in receiving and organizing medicine stock in the pharmacy.
Support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients.
Label medicines accurately and ensure correct dosages are given.
Maintain daily dispensing records and documentation.
Provide prescription information to patients/patient relatives as directed by a pharmacist.
B. Inventory & Stock Management
Monitor stock levels and assist in regular stock counts.
Report low stocks, expired items, and discrepancies to the Pharmacist.
Assist in arranging and shelving pharmaceuticals according to protocol.
Ensure proper rotation (FIFO) of medicines to prevent expiry.
C. Customer Service
Greet and assist patients/relatives with inquiries regarding pharmacy services.
Facilitate prompt and courteous service delivery.
Educate patients on general medication instructions given by the pharmacist.
D. Compliance & Safety
Follow hospital policies and procedures for medication safety.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the pharmacy area.
Comply with legal and regulatory requirements for handling medicines.
Ensure controlled substances are managed under proper guidelines.
E. Administrative Support
Assist in filing, record-keeping, and documentation of pharmacy operations.
Coordinate with other departments for timely requisition and delivery of medicines.
Support billing and insurance paperwork related to pharmacy services.
3. QualificationsEssential
10+2 (Science) / PUC or Equivalent
OR*
Certificate in Pharmacy Assistance / Diploma in Pharmacy -- D. Pharma (preferred)
Basic understanding of medical terminology and prescriptions.
Good communication skills (English + Kannada).
Desirable
Certified course in pharmacy assistance or hospital pharmacy operations.
Knowledge of hospital pharmacy software/systems.
Basic computer skills (MS Office, inventory systems).
