The Patient Auditor is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and verifying patient records, billing data, and healthcare documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to organizational, regulatory, and payer standards. This role plays a critical part in identifying discrepancies, preventing fraud, and ensuring high-quality patient care through systematic audits and performance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular audits of patient charts, medical records, and billing information to verify accuracy and completeness.
Identify discrepancies, coding errors, or missing information in patient files.
Collaborate with clinical, billing, and administrative teams to resolve audit findings.
Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, trends, and corrective actions.
Recommend process improvements to enhance compliance and operational efficiency.
Monitor and track corrective actions to ensure timely resolution.
Support training initiatives for staff on documentation accuracy and compliance standards.
Stay updated with current healthcare laws and best auditing practices.
