Review and interpret prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
Dispense prescribed medications, ensuring correct dosage, labelling, and directions for use.
Provide patient counselling on proper medication use, possible side effects, and drug interactions.
Maintain accurate records of all medications dispensed and ensure secure storage of pharmaceuticals.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to discuss treatment plans and drug therapies.
Monitor patients for side effects and efficacy of prescribed medications.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including proper documentation and inventory control.
Participate in quality assurance programs and contribute to clinical audits as required.
Manage inventory and place orders to maintain adequate stock levels.
Train and supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, as applicable.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or Pharm.D).
Valid license to practice as a Pharmacist from the relevant regulatory authority.
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting (preferred).
In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, including indications, side effects, and contraindications.
Familiarity with prescription software and pharmacy management systems.
