The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing prescription medications, providing expert advice on the safe use of medicines, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role involves counseling patients, maintaining accurate records, managing inventory, and supporting overall healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately dispense prescription medicines and check for possible interactions or contraindications.
Provide professional advice on the proper use, dosage, and potential side effects of medications.
Counsel patients on lifestyle, diet, and overall health improvement when related to prescribed medicines.
Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements (Drugs & Cosmetics Act, Pharmacy Act, etc.).
Maintain stock levels, manage procurement, and check expiry dates of medicines.
Prepare and label medications, including compounding if required.
Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals to optimize patient treatment.
Keep accurate and confidential patient medication records.
Assist in health awareness programs and promote rational use of drugs.
Handle billing, cash management, and report generation for pharmacy transactions (if required).
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) / Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) from a recognized institution.
Valid State Pharmacy Council Registration (mandatory).
Sound knowledge of medicines, pharmacology, and drug regulations.
Strong communication and patient counseling skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy.
Basic computer knowledge (pharmacy software, MS Office).
