The Pharmacist will be responsible for managing night-time pharmacy operations, dispensing medications accurately, maintaining inventory, and supporting emergency and inpatient requirements during the night shift in a multispeciality hospital.
Key Responsibilities1. Medication Dispensing & Patient Support
Dispense prescribed medicines accurately as per doctor's orders.
Ensure correct dosage, labeling, and instructions for patients and nursing staff.
Provide drug-related guidance to nurses and on-duty doctors when required.
Handle emergency medicine requests promptly.
2. Inventory & Stock Management
Maintain adequate stock of emergency, ICU, and night-use medicines.
Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper storage conditions.
Record consumption and update night-shift stock registers.
Inform management about low stock or critical medicine requirements.
3. Compliance & Documentation
Maintain pharmacy registers, bills, and night-shift logs.
Follow hospital policies, NABH guidelines (if applicable), and statutory norms.
Ensure safe handling of high-alert and controlled medicines.
4. Coordination & Handover
Coordinate with nursing staff, casualty, ICU, and ward teams.
Provide proper handover of stock, pending issues, and reports to the day-shift pharmacist.
Report any discrepancies, incidents, or adverse drug reactions.
5. Safety & Quality
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the pharmacy area.
Follow medication safety protocols strictly.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Qualification:
D.Pharm / B.Pharm (mandatory)
Registration:
Valid State Pharmacy Council Registration
Experience:
1-3 years preferred (Hospital experience desirable)
Freshers with good knowledge may be considered
Skills Required
Knowledge of hospital medications and emergency drugs
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently during night hours
Basic computer skills for billing and inventory
Good communication and coordination skills
Working Conditions
Night shift from
7:00 PM to 9:00 AM
Rotational weekly off / as per hospital policy
On-call availability during critical emergencies

Pay: ?10,000.00 - ?20,000.00 per month
