Job Description

Dispense and manage medications:

Review and interpret physician orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness. Accurately fill prescriptions and package them with correct labeling. Maintain inventory, ensuring proper storage and disposal of expired medications.

Patient and professional consultation:

Advise patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and interactions with other drugs. Provide guidance on general health topics and recommend over-the-counter products. Consult with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals about patient drug therapy.

Ensure safety and compliance:

Check for potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications. Administer immunizations, such as flu shots. Maintain patient records and adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations.

Pharmacy management:

Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns. Manage pharmacy records and billing issues.
