JOB TITLE: Hospital PharmacistDEPT/SECTION: Pharmacy/ BhaktiVedanta Hospital Medical & General StoresREPORTS TO: Deputy Manager-Pharmacy/ Head-Pharmacy & Retail ServicesQualification : B.Pharm, with 2 years and above work-experience in NABH & PDQ accredited Hospital-Pharmacy.JOB DESCRIPTION:Execution of day-to-day Pharmacy Functions1. IP Dispensing: Safe and accurate dispensing of Medicines for IP patients against online indent and filling of auto-ward indents. Ensure that billed products gets delivered to the indented locations within 20 minutes.2. Dispense IP / OP sales items only after all the billed products undergo Doer-Checker System.3. Strictly comply with set-protocols enlisted in manual for accurate dispensing NDPS drugs, High Alert (Risk) medicines, LASA brands, Schedule HI, Schedule X drugs, Reserve drugs, High value items and cold chain medicines.4. OPD Dispensing: Dispensing and billing of medicines against valid prescription for OPD Patients. No credit sale or short payment sale is permitted. Ensure correctness of quantity, batch number, expiry date, MRP on the product label. Put down your signature on the Patient's Invoice after stamping "supplied-stamp" and mentioning quantity of dispensed medicines on OPD prescription. You can substitute equivalent brands (only if unavailable) after confirmation with primary Consultant.5. Provide customer-care & medicine counselling to all OPD patients. Stick dose frequency label on all the drugs being dispensed.6. Provide availability-information of affordable generic medicines to OPD patients and facilitate their visit to Generic Pharmacy.7. Guide patient's relative to opt for Home Delivery Services.8. Regularly inform Consultants / Nursing Staff about availability of branded medicinesand it's equivalent substitutes in Pharmacy.9. Quickly communicate via pharmacy user-e-mail about requirements of new brands/ new drugs to Assistant Manager.10. Daily submission of batch-wise-cash scroll along with card statement.11. Maintain the assigned Petty-cash in your locker. There will be spot checking &reporting of your locker. Manual sales-bills must be entered in the software system in the same shift/ day.12. Adhere to OPD-return-medicines protocol as described in Pharmacy manual.13. Complete the shift-wise handover of NDPS-drug-stock and storage-cupboard Keys after maintaining their records in register.14. Assist in half yearly stock-take exercise and quarterly nearing expiry segregation activities.15. Monitor and maintain shift-wise refrigerator temperature records .16. Ensure shift-wise housekeeping and cleaning of work/ storage area. Maintain its records.17. Execute daily Pilferage audit of five products assigned to you by Assistant Manager.18. Daily rearrange stock of storage rack assigned to you well in FIFO order.19. Make a PPT presentation to staff on Pharmacy Technical Topic during every 2months cycle.20. Attend DTC meeting and execute other responsibilities as and when assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:1. Thorough knowledge of SOPs of Pharmacy Manual with expertise of functional skills needed for Hospital Pharmacy Operations.2. In-depth awareness of medicine brands, its composition and its various substitute available in the Pharmacy.3. Sound working knowledge of HIS software application for Pharmacy.4. Well versed with Pharmaceutical regulatory Laws.5. Technical knowledge of Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical chemistry, Pharmacology and Toxicology.6. Expertise in meticulous documentation.7.
