Position Overview:

The candidate who may not hold a Pharmacy degree (non-pharmacist) but have experience are also welcomed to apply. The Pharmacist will assist in dispensing medications, managing inventory, providing customer service, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. They will work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, contributing to the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care. They will ensure the smooth and effective process and the operations at the work place.

Candidates who hold 0-6 months experience or are freshers also may apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Medication Dispensing Support:

Assist in preparing and dispensing medications accurately as per prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and documentation of medications. Perform final checks for accuracy and ensure that prescribed medications match patient details.

Inventory and Stock Management:

Maintain inventory of medications and pharmacy supplies, ensuring stock levels are adequate. Assist with ordering medications and receiving deliveries. Monitor product expiration dates and manage stock rotation to ensure safe and effective use of medications. Organize and maintain the pharmacy storage areas in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Ensure the proper maintenance of the pharmacy and stocks.

Customer Service and Patient Interaction:

Greet patients and customers, and provide assistance with prescription pick-ups, refills, and medication inquiries. Answer questions about over-the-counter medications, ensuring customers understand dosage, usage, and safety. Communicate effectively with patients regarding their medications, including advising them on general use and side effects under the guidance of a pharmacist.

Medication Therapy and Patient Support:

Assist with the management of medication therapy, supporting the pharmacists with patient consultations and medication counseling when necessary. Help prepare blister packs, pill bottles, or other medication packaging formats as required. Ensure patients are aware of medication schedules, side effects, and instructions for use. Explain the dosage and duration of the medicines to the patient/customer.

Administrative and Documentation Tasks:

Record patient prescriptions, document medication orders, and maintain accurate pharmacy records. Help with the preparation of insurance claims or payment processing. Assist in maintaining compliance with pharmacy regulations and keeping up with necessary paperwork.

Compliance and Regulatory Standards:

Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations, ensuring safe and accurate medication dispensing. Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained according to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Ensure the pharmacy environment complies with all health and safety standards.

Collaboration with Pharmacy Team:

Work closely with licensed pharmacists to address issues related to patient prescriptions, drug interactions, or any clinical questions that may arise. Collaborate with pharmacy team members to optimize workflow, resolve patient concerns, and provide excellent customer service.

Training and Development:

Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on new medications, industry best practices, and evolving pharmacy regulations. Mentor and assist less experienced pharmacy staff or trainees, sharing knowledge and expertise as needed. Ensure the strict maintenance of code of conduct and laws.
