Job Description

Dispensing Medications:

Accurately filling prescriptions, verifying instructions, and labeling medications with clear information.

Medication Review:

Evaluating prescriptions for accuracy, legality, and appropriateness for the patient.

Patient Counseling:

Providing information and advice on medications, including dosages, side effects, and proper administration.

Inventory Management:

Maintaining a well-organized and stocked pharmacy, ensuring proper storage and handling of medications.

Record Keeping:

Maintaining accurate patient records, pharmacy files, and other required documentation.

Compliance:

Adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.

Collaboration:

Working with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and address potential drug interactions.

Clinical Services:

Performing tasks like temperature measurements, injections (where permitted), and other medical services.

Supervision:

Overseeing the work of pharmacy technicians and other staff.

Drug Development:

In some roles, pharmacists may be involved in research and development of new medications.

Public Health:

Educating patients and the public on medication safety and proper drug use.
