The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, ensuring patient safety, and providing expert advice on the proper use of medicines. The role includes patient counselling, medication management, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to support optimal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately
Review prescriptions for correctness, dosage, and potential drug interactions
Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, storage, and precautions
Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation
Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards
Manage inventory, stock levels, and medication storage conditions
Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and staff
Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care
Promote health awareness and preventive care when appropriate
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm / Pharm.D)
Valid pharmacist license/registration
Strong knowledge of pharmacology and drug safety
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
