Dispense medicines strictly as per doctor's prescription.
Verify dosage, route, frequency, and possible drug interactions.
Counsel patients and attendants on proper use, dosage, and storage of medicines.
Ensure correct labeling and packaging of medicines.
2. Pharmacy Operations
Manage OPD, IPD, ICU, and emergency medicine requirements.
Maintain daily pharmacy operations including issue and return of medicines.
Ensure availability of essential and emergency drugs at all times.
3. Inventory & Stock Management
Maintain accurate stock registers (manual and/or computerized).
Monitor expiry dates, batch numbers, and storage conditions.
Ensure proper storage of medicines as per temperature and safety guidelines.
Prevent stock shortages, pilferage, and wastage.
4. Billing & Documentation
Coordinate with accounts for pharmacy billing and daily sales records.
Maintain purchase invoices, sales records, and medicine issue registers.
Ensure transparency and accuracy in pharmacy billing.
5. Regulatory & Statutory Compliance
Comply with the
Drugs & Cosmetics Act and Rules
.
Maintain valid pharmacy licenses and display them prominently.
Ensure pharmacy operations meet inspection and audit requirements.
6. Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and hospital administration.
Report adverse drug reactions, shortages, or discrepancies immediately.
Submit periodic stock and compliance reports to management.

D.Pharm / B.Pharm
from a recognized institution
Registration
Valid State Pharmacy Council Registration
(West Bengal or applicable)
Experience

Hospital or nursing home experience preferred
Skills & Competencies

Familiarity with pharmacy billing software (preferred)
