Job Description

:

The PGT Psychology Teacher will teach

Grades 11 and 12 (CBSE curriculum)

and play a dual role as both an educator and a student counsellor. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore human behaviour, mental processes, and emotional intelligence while fostering a safe and supportive environment that promotes well-being. The teacher will guide students towards

academic excellence in Psychology

and support them through counselling interventions that enhance their social, emotional, and academic development.

Key Responsibilities:



Teach

Psychology

to students in

Grades 11 and 12

, following the

CBSE curriculum

, with engaging and conceptually rich lessons.

Design and deliver lesson plans that encourage inquiry, reflection, and application of psychological principles to real-life contexts.

Assess student learning through a range of formative and summative methods, providing constructive feedback to enhance understanding and performance.

Conduct

individual and group counselling sessions

for students to support emotional well-being, stress management, interpersonal relationships, and academic motivation.

Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all counselling interactions.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school leaders to identify and address students' social-emotional needs and promote a positive school climate.

Organize awareness sessions, workshops, and life skills programs related to mental health and emotional resilience.

Participate in professional development activities and contribute to the school's holistic education initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:Education:



Master's degree (Postgraduate) in

Psychology

(Applied, Clinical, or Counselling Psychology preferred).

B.Ed.

is

mandatory

.

Experience:



Minimum

3-4 years of experience

teaching Psychology at the

senior secondary (Grades 11-12)

level under the

CBSE curriculum

.

Prior experience in

counselling adolescents

or working as a

school counsellor

is highly desirable.

Skills:



Deep understanding of

CBSE Psychology curriculum

and current teaching methodologies.

Empathy, active listening, and strong interpersonal skills for effective counselling.

Excellent

communication and classroom management skills

.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues with care and professionalism.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance teaching and counselling responsibilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?40,000.00 - ?50,000.00 per month
