The PGT Music Teacher will be responsible for nurturing students' interest and talent in both vocal and instrumental music. The teacher must be able to train students in classical, contemporary, and fusion music, while also preparing them for assemblies, competitions, cultural events, and examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, design, and deliver engaging music lessons for senior classes (Grades IX-XII).
Teach both Indian and Western vocal/instrumental music, ensuring a balance of theory and practical sessions.
Prepare students for inter-school competitions, cultural fests, assemblies, and annual functions.
Guide students in learning musical instruments (keyboard, harmonium, tabla, guitar, etc.).
Train school choir and band for special occasions such as Independence Day, Annual Day, and other school celebrations.
Assess and evaluate students' performance, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
Maintain and care for school musical instruments, ensuring they are in working condition.
Integrate music with other subjects/activities to make learning holistic.
Maintain discipline, encourage creativity, and instill appreciation for music as a life skill.
Prepare lesson plans and maintain academic records in ERP as per school policy.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Master's Degree in Music (Vocal/Instrumental) from a recognized university.
B.Ed. preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience at senior secondary level.
Proficiency in both Indian Classical and Western music (vocal & instrumental).
Ability to compose, arrange, and notate music.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Passion for teaching and ability to inspire creativity among students.
