Job Summary:

The PGT History teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured History lessons to senior school students (Classes IX-XII), fostering analytical thinking, historical understanding, and appreciation of socio-political contexts. The teacher is expected to uphold the school's academic standards while inspiring students to explore history with curiosity and depth.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver comprehensive lessons in History as per the prescribed curriculum (CBSE/ICSE/IB/IGCSE as applicable). Develop students' critical thinking, research, and analytical writing skills through discussions, projects, and inquiry-based learning. Integrate technology and creative teaching methods to make learning interactive and meaningful. Conduct assessments, maintain academic records, and provide constructive feedback to students and parents. Prepare students for board examinations and guide them in understanding historical sources, timelines, and interpretations. Participate in school events, academic exhibitions, and inter-disciplinary learning initiatives. Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental meetings, and professional development activities. Maintain classroom discipline, uphold school policies, and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

Master's Degree in History from a recognized university. B.Ed. or equivalent professional teaching qualification (mandatory). Minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level preferred. Strong command over English (spoken and written). Familiarity with modern pedagogical tools, digital platforms, and assessment techniques.
