Job Description

The Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) - Fine Arts is responsible for teaching Fine Arts to senior secondary students (Classes XI-XII) in accordance with

CBSE curriculum, guidelines, and assessment patterns

. The role focuses on developing students' artistic skills, creativity, aesthetic sensibility, and readiness for CBSE board practical and theory examinations.

Key Responsibilities

Teach Fine Arts to Classes XI and XII strictly as per

CBSE syllabus, curriculum framework, and marking schemes

. Prepare annual academic plans, lesson plans, and unit plans in line with CBSE guidelines. Conduct theory and practical classes covering Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Applied Art, and Art History as prescribed by CBSE. Prepare students for

CBSE practical examinations, internal assessments, portfolios, and theory papers

. Design and evaluate practical assignments, projects, and student portfolios as per CBSE norms. Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, internal marks, and student progress. Ensure proper upkeep and safe use of art studios, tools, materials, and displays. Organize and support

art exhibitions, competitions, assemblies, and CBSE-mandated activities

. Integrate

art-integrated learning, competency-based education, and NEP 2020 guidelines

into classroom practices. Identify and nurture students' artistic talents and encourage participation in inter-school and CBSE events. Support inclusive education practices and address diverse learner needs, including CWSN students. Participate in school meetings, CBSE trainings, workshops, and professional development programs. Communicate regularly with parents regarding students' academic and artistic progress. Follow school policies, CBSE examination ethics, and disciplinary standards.
Academic Qualifications (As per CBSE Norms)

Master's Degree in Fine Arts (MFA) / MA in Fine Arts

from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks.

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

from a recognized institution (mandatory). CTET qualification -

preferred

(as per institutional policy; not mandatory for PGT in many CBSE schools).
Experience

Minimum

2-5 years of teaching experience

at senior secondary level (CBSE experience preferred). Experience in handling

CBSE board classes (XI-XII)

and practical examinations is highly desirable. Freshers with strong academic background and practical expertise may also be considered.
Skills & Competencies

In-depth knowledge of

CBSE Fine Arts syllabus and assessment pattern

. Proficiency in multiple art forms and mediums. Ability to plan competency-based and experiential learning activities. Strong classroom management and student mentoring skills. Effective communication, evaluation, and documentation skills. Working knowledge of digital tools, presentations, and online teaching platforms.
