Minimum 3-5years' experience teaching English at the senior secondary level.
Job Purpose
To plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in English language and literature to senior secondary students, fostering critical thinking, strong communication skills, and a lifelong appreciation of the language and its literary heritage.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning & Delivery
Develop detailed lesson plans in line with the school's curriculum (CBSE/ISC/State Board).
Use a variety of teaching methods--lectures, discussions, multimedia, and group activities--to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Assessment & Evaluation
Design, administer, and grade tests, quizzes, essays, and projects.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to help students improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
Classroom Management
Establish and enforce classroom rules conducive to a productive learning environment.
Address behavioral issues promptly and in accordance with school policy.
Literary Engagement
Introduce students to a wide range of literary genres: poetry, drama, prose, and non-fiction.
Guide literary analysis and foster critical discussions on themes, context, and authorial intent.
Language Skills Development
Conduct focused activities to enhance grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing proficiency.
Organize speech & debate sessions, creative writing workshops, and reading circles.
Professional Development & Collaboration
Attend department meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school events (e.g., literary festivals, English Week).
Mentor junior teachers and student interns, as needed.
Parental & Community Engagement
Communicate student progress and areas for improvement to parents through parent-teacher meetings and written reports.
Encourage participation in inter-school competitions, quizzes, and community outreach programs.
