The PGT English Teacher will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature to senior secondary students, delivering engaging lessons, and ensuring academic excellence. The role includes curriculum planning, classroom instruction, assessment, and supporting students' overall development.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons for classes XI-XII as per the prescribed curriculum (CBSE/State Board).
Teach English Core / English Elective as applicable.
Use innovative pedagogical methods to enhance comprehension, communication skills, and literary appreciation.
Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assignments.
Assessment & Evaluation
Conduct formative and summative assessments as per school guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and prepare report cards.
Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
Classroom Management
Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment.
Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and active participation.
Curriculum & Academic Support
Contribute to curriculum development and question paper setting.
Mentor students for board examinations, debates, writing competitions, and other literary activities.
Professional Responsibilities
Attend staff meetings, workshops, and school events.
Participate in professional development programs
Requirements
Master's degree (MA) in English.
B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (mandatory).
Minimum 2-5 years of teaching experience at senior secondary level (preferred).
