About the Chemistry Teacher role

The PGT English Teacher will be responsible for teaching English to senior school students , ensuring strong conceptual understanding, language proficiency, and critical appreciation of literature. The role requires commitment to high academic standards, innovative teaching practices, and holistic student development.

Specific responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging English language and literature lessons for senior secondary students. Prepare students for board examinations with focused strategies and practice. Design lesson plans, assessments, and learning materials aligned with curriculum standards. Evaluate student work, maintain records, and provide timely, constructive feedback. Use differentiated instruction to support diverse learning needs. Foster critical thinking, communication skills, and literary appreciation. Maintain a disciplined, inclusive, and positive classroom environment. Participate in departmental planning, curriculum development, and school events. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress. Engage in ongoing professional development and adopt innovative teaching practices.

Educational Qualifications

Master's degree in English (MA English) from a recognized university. B.Ed. mandatory.

Experience

Minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level (preferred). Experience with IBDP is an added advantage.

Professional Skills

Strong command of spoken and written English. Excellence in literature, grammar, academic writing, and communication. Effective classroom management and student engagement skills. Ability to design creative, interactive, and differentiated learning experiences. Comfortable with technology-enabled teaching (Google Classroom, digital tools).
