Job Description

The PGT English is responsible for teaching English language and literature to senior secondary students, fostering critical thinking, communication skills, and a love for literature. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the prescribed curriculum and prepare students for board examinations and higher studies.

Key Responsibilities

Teach English language and literature to Classes XI and XII as per CBSE/ISC/State Board curriculum Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured lessons using effective teaching methodologies Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills Assess, evaluate, and record student performance through tests, assignments, and examinations Prepare students for board exams, competitive exams, and higher education Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment Use ICT tools, smart boards, and digital resources to enhance learning Participate in curriculum planning, academic meetings, and school activities Guide students in projects, debates, presentations, and literary activities Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress Engage in professional development and continuous learning

Qualifications

Master's Degree (M.A.) in English B.Ed. from a recognized institution CTET/State TET qualification (if required by the board)

Skills & Competencies

Strong command of English language and literature Excellent communication and classroom management skills Ability to motivate and mentor senior secondary students Proficiency in modern teaching tools and technology Strong assessment and evaluation skills

Experience

Minimum 2-5 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level (preferred) Freshers with strong academic background may also apply (as per school policy)
