The DAV Group - Chennai, functioning under the aegis of Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society was established in 1970 at Gopalapuram in Chennai with just 50 students. The Group today, caters to over 40,000 students across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It has a staff of 1500 plus which includes 1,200 teachers. Four of our branches have been consistently ranked amongst top 15 schools in the country.

In addition to K-12 schooling, DAV has recently ventured into Higher Education with DAV-SMK Fomra College of Arts & Science at Kelambakkam, Chennai.

Summary

We are looking for a qualified and motivated

PGT Computer Science Teacher

for handling classes 9,10 & 11. The ideal candidate should hold a B.E./B.Tech (CS/IT) or M.Sc. (CS) / MCA (or equivalent), with good teaching/mentoring skills. The role involves handling both theory and practical sessions, guiding students academically and in career paths, preparing them for board & further academic success, and contributing to the school's overall Computer Science programme.

Educational Qualification

1. B.E. / B.Tech. in Computer Science or Information Technology (or equivalent) from a recognized university.

2. M.Sc. in Computer Science or MCA from a recognized university.

3. In some cases, BCA / B.Sc. (Computer Science) (or equivalent) + a postgraduate degree (or PG qualification as per school/board norms) may suffice.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1.Plan and deliver Computer Science theory and lab/practical classes as per the school's syllabus for Classes 11 & 12.

2. Prepare lesson plans, assignments, projects, and assessments; evaluate student performance and provide feedback.

3. Mentor and guide students academically -- help them build strong conceptual foundation in programming, software, databases, algorithms, etc.

4. Support students' career/ higher-education guidance in Computer Science / IT / related streams.

5. Maintain academic records, ensure lab/computer-infrastructure readiness (if required), and collaborate with other teachers/departments for effective teaching and extracurricular/IT-club activities.

6. Encourage logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and build interest in computing among students.Job type: Full timeSalary shall commensurate with experience
