Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in Chemistry to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Chemistry and the ability to effectively teach advanced topics to senior secondary students. The PGT Chemistry teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, conducting experiments, assessing student progress, and fostering a deep understanding of scientific concepts.

Key Responsibilities:



Classroom Teaching:


Teach Chemistry to students in grades [insert grade level, e.g., 11-12], focusing on topics such as Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Environmental Chemistry.

Curriculum Design & Planning:


Develop lesson plans, assignments, and lab exercises based on the prescribed syllabus. Ensure that lessons are engaging, comprehensive, and aligned with educational standards. Tailor teaching methods to suit the diverse learning needs of students.

Laboratory Supervision:


Organize and supervise practical chemistry experiments in the laboratory. Ensure safety protocols are followed, and students gain hands-on experience in performing experiments, observing chemical reactions, and interpreting results.

Assessments & Evaluation:


Design, administer, and grade quizzes, tests, assignments, and practical exams. Provide constructive feedback to students and offer extra assistance to those needing additional help. Track student progress and performance over the academic year.

Classroom Management:


Foster a positive and disciplined learning environment. Encourage active participation, question-and-answer sessions, and group discussions. Manage classroom behavior and create a space where students feel motivated to engage in the learning process.

Student Mentorship:


Offer academic and career guidance to students. Assist with study techniques and exam preparation. Guide students in their projects and research, especially if they are interested in pursuing Chemistry-related fields in higher education.

Parent and School Communication:


Regularly communicate with parents regarding students' progress, upcoming exams, and any concerns. Participate in parent-teacher meetings and help foster a collaborative relationship between school and home.

Professional Development:


Continuously update knowledge in the field of Chemistry and education. Participate in workshops, seminars, and training sessions to improve teaching strategies, stay updated on new developments in the field of Chemistry, and implement best practices in the classroom.

Extracurricular Involvement:


Participate in school events, including science fairs, chemistry clubs, and other co-curricular activities related to science education. Encourage students to explore scientific interests beyond the classroom.

Qualifications & Requirements:



Educational Qualifications:

Master's degree in Chemistry (M.Sc. in Chemistry or equivalent). Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching qualification is preferred.

Experience:

At least [insert years] of teaching experience in Chemistry at the senior secondary school level. Experience in teaching Chemistry at the board exam level (e.g., CBSE, ICSE, or similar curriculum). Familiarity with current trends in Chemistry and its practical applications is desirable.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of Chemistry, including advanced topics such as Organic, Inorganic, and Physical Chemistry. Ability to demonstrate experiments clearly and safely in a laboratory setting. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in using educational technology tools and resources (e.g., digital labs, simulation software). Ability to effectively assess and evaluate student performance.
