The PGT Biology Teacher will be responsible for teaching Biology to classes XI and XII as per the CBSE curriculum. The role includes planning and delivering engaging lessons, preparing students for board examinations, maintaining academic records, and contributing to the overall development of the students.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
Deliver well-structured and engaging Biology lessons for Classes IX & XII.
Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and instructional materials as per CBSE guidelines.
Ensure conceptual clarity and promote inquiry-based learning.
Prepare students for CBSE Board Exams through regular tests and revision sessions.
Use ICT tools, smart boards, and digital resources to enhance teaching.
Student Assessment & Evaluation
Design and conduct assignments, tests, practical exams, and internal assessments.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide timely feedback.
Identify learning gaps and plan remedial classes accordingly.
Lab Work & Practical Sessions
Conduct Biology practicals as per the CBSE mandate.
Maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and ensure safety protocols.
Guide students during experiments and scientific investigations.
Curriculum Planning
Participate in curriculum review, annual planning, and academic audits.
Ensure completion of syllabus within the prescribed timeline.
Suggest innovative teaching methodologies.
Student Mentorship & Support
Provide academic counseling and career guidance in Biology and Allied Sciences.
Support students participating in Olympiads, science fairs, and competitions.
Maintain discipline and promote positive classroom culture.
Administrative & School Activities
Maintain attendance, lesson progress reports, and documentation.
Participate in PTMs, departmental meetings, workshops, and training.
Support school events, exhibitions, assemblies, and additional duties assigned by the school.
3. QualificationsEducational Requirements
Master's Degree (M.Sc.) in Biology / Botany / Zoology / Life Sciences or related field.
B.Ed. (Mandatory as per CBSE norms).
Experience
Minimum
2-5 years of teaching experience
at Senior Secondary level (Preferred).
Experience preparing students for CBSE Class XII Board Exams is an advantage.
