Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver comprehensive and engaging lessons in Biology for students at the senior secondary level (grades 11 and 12).
Design and implement a rigorous curriculum that aligns with national and/or international standards and promotes inquiry-based learning and scientific inquiry.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including lectures, discussions, laboratory experiments, multimedia resources, and hands-on activities, to enhance student understanding and mastery of biological concepts.
Create and administer assessments, including quizzes, tests, and projects, to evaluate student progress and achievement.
Analyze assessment data to identify areas of student need and adjust instruction accordingly to ensure all students are successful.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported, respected, and motivated to learn.
Incorporate real-world examples and current scientific research into lessons to make the subject matter relevant and engaging for students.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their academic performance and progress towards learning goals.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units, projects, and activities that integrate Biology with other subject areas.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in Biology education and enhance teaching skills.

Qualifications:

Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Biology or a related field. A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with significant coursework in Biology may be considered with relevant teaching experience.
B.Ed. or equivalent teaching certification required. Additional certifications or qualifications in Biology education are advantageous.
Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in Biology at the senior secondary level (grades 11 and 12), preferably in a reputable educational institution.
In-depth knowledge of Biology concepts, principles, and theories, with expertise in specialized areas such as genetics, ecology, physiology, or microbiology.
Strong pedagogical skills and a proven ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective instruction in Biology.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning.
Dedication to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of Biology education.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents to support student success.
Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional languages may be advantageous.
