Job Description

Perform a full range of pulmonary function tests including: Spirometry Lung volumes Diffusion capacity (DLCO) Bronchodilator reversibility testing Methacholine challenge test (if applicable) Six-minute walk test (6MWT) FeNO testing (if applicable) Ensure tests are done per American Thoracic Society (ATS)/European Respiratory Society (ERS) guidelines. Explain procedures clearly to patients to ensure cooperation and accurate results. Screen patients for contraindications and evaluate ability to perform tests. Monitor patient comfort, anxiety, and safety throughout testing. Assist patients with inhalation therapy during bronchodilator studies when required. Set up, calibrate, and maintain PFT machines daily. Record test results accurately and maintain patient records in the hospital system. Validate test quality and reproducibility according to ATS/ERS standards. Maintain calibration logs, equipment service records, and patient test logs. Continuously monitor performance standards to ensure high-quality reporting. Schedule patient appointments and manage daily workflow.
