Equipment Operation:
Operate and calibrate specialized PFT equipment, such as spirometers and body boxes, to ensure accuracy and functionality.
Test Administration:
Conduct various pulmonary function tests, including spirometry and lung volume measurements, by instructing patients on correct breathing techniques.
Data Management:
Accurately record, analyze, and document test results for physicians to review.
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and sterilization of the PFT equipment to ensure patient safety and equipment longevity.
Patient Monitoring:
Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during the testing procedures.
Communication:
Collaborate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide clear information and accurate data.
Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in operating and maintaining complex PFT equipment.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong ability to communicate effectively with patients and build rapport.
Organizational Skills:
