1. Vehicle & Safety Responsibilities
Ensure the vehicle is in good working condition before every trip (brakes, lights, tyres, fuel, documents).
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle at all times.
Follow all traffic rules, safety regulations, and company driving policies.
Report any vehicle breakdown, accident, or damage immediately to the supervisor.
Ensure vehicle insurance, RC, PUC, and permits are valid and available.
2. Import & Export Logistics Support
Transport raw materials, finished goods, and samples safely between factory, warehouse, port, airport, customs office, and customer locations.
Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, and dispatch teams for loading and unloading.
Ensure timely pickup and delivery as per import/export schedules.
Assist in movement of goods for customs clearance and bonded warehouse transfers.
3. Documentation Handling
Carry and submit all required documents such as:
Invoice
Delivery challan
E-way bill
Packing list
Gate pass
Import/export related documents as instructed
Ensure documents are signed and acknowledged at delivery points.
Return completed documents to the concerned department on time.
4. Material Handling & Care
Ensure goods are properly loaded, secured, and protected to prevent damage.
Follow special handling instructions for fragile, hazardous, temperature-sensitive, or regulated materials.
Avoid pilferage, mishandling, or unauthorized access to materials.
Report any shortages, damages, or discrepancies immediately.
5. Compliance & Confidentiality
Follow company SOPs, GMP, safety, and security guidelines.
Maintain confidentiality of company materials, routes, customers, and documents.
Comply with customs, port, airport, and warehouse regulations.
Do not carry unauthorized persons or materials in the vehicle.
6. Coordination & Communication
Maintain regular communication with transport, logistics, and plant coordinators.
Inform delays due to traffic, breakdowns, or inspections immediately.
Cooperate during audits, inspections, and security checks.
Follow instructions from supervisors, logistics managers, and security staff.
7. Record Keeping & Reporting
Maintain vehicle logbook, trip details, fuel usage, and kilometre records.
Submit expense bills and toll receipts as per company procedure.
Report daily trip completion status to the concerned department.
8. Discipline & Conduct
Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and proper behavior.
Abstain from alcohol, drugs, or any prohibited substances during duty hours.
Wear company-issued ID, uniform, and safety gear where applicable.
Avoid misuse of company vehicle for personal work.
