Partner with the best
This is a senior engineering role specializing in variable speed drives and power conversion systems, responsible for advanced electrical research, design, and testing of drive products and control systems, defining hardware architecture and performance requirements, leading early development phases, and applying deep expertise in power electronics, motor control, and analog/digital electronics while ensuring safety, compliance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
As a
PCB Engineer
, you will be responsible for:
Designing, developing, and testing
variable speed drives, motor control circuits, and power electronic systems
Conducting/overseeing prototype builds for compliance to specifications, efficiency, and reliability
Creating electrical schematics and
PCBAs for power stage, control boards, and gate driver circuits
Designing Altium-based wire harnesses and cabling
for drive systems, including BOM generation and routing optimization
Selecting components (IGBTs, SiC/MOSFETs, gate drivers, magnetics, sensors, protection circuits) for drive applications
Developing and executing
VSD performance verification test plans
(efficiency, harmonic distortion, thermal, EMI/EMC)
Analyzing failure modes, reliability, and drive performance improvements
Developing mathematical models of motor-drive systems to guide design and validation
Troubleshooting and refining prototypes/final products for power density, thermal, and manufacturability targets
Resolving failure issues and identifying root causes; qualify alternate components for obsolete or supply-chain constrained parts
Creating and maintaining documentation: BOMs, harness drawings, ECNs/EDNs, test procedures, and design packages
Providing sustaining engineering support for existing VSD products and addressing field-return/production issues
Collaborating with Product Management and Procurement to drive cost reductions and performance improvements
Evaluating and introducing new power semiconductors, passive components, manufacturing techniques, and design tools
Managing prototype procurement, supplier quoting, ordering, and material inspection
Ensuring compliance with
UL, CE, IEC 61800-5-1, and IEEE 519
standards for variable speed drives
Coordinating with external labs for compliance (safety, EMC/EMI, efficiency testing)
Supporting the company's Quality Management System (ISO 9001 and customer requirements)
Training and mentoring junior engineers on PCB, harness design, and VSD development practices
Fuel your passion
Have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of experience in power electronics or VSD design, or a Master's with 4+ years, or a Ph.D. with 2+ years, along with at least 5 years as an Electrical Engineer I or equivalent.
Have 3+ years in variable speed drive / motor control design (power stage and control electronics)
Have experience with Altium Designer for both PCB and wire harness design
Have 5+ years with electronic simulation tools (Altium, PSIM, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.)
Strongly preferred to have experience with PCB design for Power Electronics System (Gate Drive Design for Converters or Inverters)
