We are looking for a meticulous and experienced PCB Assembly and Production Engineer to manage and optimize our printed circuit board manufacturing processes. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the entire PCB assembly lifecycle, from process development and component placement to quality control and final testing. You will be the crucial link between our design engineers and the manufacturing floor, ensuring our electronic products are built to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the end-to-end PCB assembly process
, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through-Hole Technology (THT) lines.
Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes
for new and existing products to improve yield, throughput, and quality.
Collaborate with design engineering teams
to conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews on new PCB layouts.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
, such as soldering defects, component misplacements, equipment malfunctions, and process inconsistencies.
Create and maintain detailed work instructions
, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for assembly operators.
Implement and manage quality control systems
, including Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), In-Circuit Testing (ICT), and functional testing protocols.
Train and mentor production operators and technicians
on best practices for soldering, component handling, and equipment operation in accordance with IPC standards.
Manage the calibration and maintenance schedules
for all assembly equipment, including pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and wave solder machines.
Liaise with component suppliers and PCB fabrication houses
to resolve technical queries and ensure the quality of incoming materials.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives
using Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and enhance production efficiency.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree/Diploma
in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in a PCB assembly
or electronics manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of SMT and THT processes
, soldering standards (e.g., IPC-A-610), and electronic components.
Hands-on experience with automated assembly equipment
, such as pick-and-place machines, screen printers, reflow ovens, and AOI systems.
Familiarity with PCB design and fabrication processes
and ability to read schematics and layout files (e.g., Gerber files).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
with a methodical, data-driven approach to troubleshooting.
Proficient in creating technical documentation
and work instructions.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
to collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and supply chain.
Knowledge of quality management systems
(e.g., ISO 9001) and continuous improvement principles is highly desirable.
