JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly experienced Payroll Management Specialist with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience to independently manage end-to-end payroll operations. The role demands strong expertise in Indian payroll statutory compliances, taxation, labour laws, and hands-on experience with modern payroll systems. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing, statutory adherence, and smooth coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees, ensuring timely and accurate salary disbursement.
Ensure compliance with Indian Income Tax laws, including TDS calculations, deductions, challans, and returns.
Handle investment declaration, verification of proofs, and annual tax computation.
Manage statutory compliances and filings related to EPF, ESI, and other applicable labour laws.
Ensure adherence to New Labour Codes and keep payroll practices aligned with regulatory updates.
Operate and manage payroll using Zoho Payroll.
Manage payroll for international / overseas employees, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and coordination across multiple geographies using platforms such as Remote, Rippling, or similar tools.
Address and resolve payroll-related employee queries in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain payroll records, statutory registers, and reports for audits and internal reviews.
Coordinate with Finance, HR, consultants, and government authorities for payroll and compliance matters.
Support year-end payroll activities including Form 16 generation, reconciliation, and audits.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in payroll management and statutory compliances.
Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Finance.
Strong working knowledge of Indian Income Taxation, payroll structuring, and TDS.
Thorough knowledge of EPF and ESI laws, compliance filings, and statutory timelines.
Proven experience in investment declaration management and proof verification.
Mandatory experience with Zoho People and Zoho Payroll.
Experience with Remote, Rippling, or similar global payroll platforms.
Strong attention to detail with high standards of data accuracy and confidentiality.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Hands-on experience managing international / multi-country payroll, including coordination with global payroll vendors and understanding of cross-border payroll processes.
GOOD TO HAVE:
Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification will be an added advantage.
Payroll, taxation, or compliance certifications will be an added advantage.
Exposure to multi-geo or international business operations.
