Ensures payroll is processed with speed and accuracy. Serves as liaison to employees and with third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies. Audits employee pay records and reconciles totals by department, location, country, etc. Coordinates third party payroll system implementations and upgrades. Interprets pay policies, (e.g., vacation, LOA, disability, workers compensation, union contracts, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc.) and ensures appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to the various accounts correctly. Verifies compliance with federal and state payroll requirements; stays current with changes in the law. May assist with audits of internal records, workers compensation, tax filings and related documentation. Documents payroll processes and procedures; may train payroll department staff. May back up those who perform specialized tasks or activities such as stock option exercises, SEC document filing, or sales commission calculation reviews.

Works under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment, performs HR and payroll systems support functions for the enterprise to help deliver top HR and payroll services enabled by automation and self-service workflows. Work with employees and with third party vendors to drive the improvement of HR and payroll operational processes, optimize the management of HR data across the enterprise, and implement and maintain new HRIS/Payroll system. Assist the Payroll Manager and HR Systems and Analytics Manager with the verification of data changes entered for employees into the payroll system, the HRIS, the time and attendance system, and the travel & expense system. Responsible for performing accounting related functions for payroll and expense processing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAbility to accurately and timely process bi-weekly, multi-state payroll including both exempt and non-exempt employees. Subject matter expert for payroll components of the HRIS system and expense reimbursement application with ability to lead system updates for current or new functionality, system maintenance, configuration changes, system testing, data integrity reviews and related reporting. Prepare various journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger support for payroll and expense reimbursement related items. Reconcile and balance payroll and other payroll items (401k, HSA/FSA, etc.) Responsible for weekly expense review and reimbursement through the expense reporting system. Maintain and update documents for payroll and expense reimbursement process and procedures. Service and assist employees with payroll and expense reimbursement related policies, procedures and questions. Keep abreast of both state and federal regulations concerning payroll and other employee-related areas to ensure the organization's compliance with current wage and tax rules and regulations. Continually seek process automation and improvement. Assist and collaborate with other departments as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEAssociate's degree or the equivalent experience of at least 5 years HR and/or payroll experience 5+ years of progressive HRIS and payroll experience Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required and proficiency with Microsoft Word Experience with Workday is a plus Experience with travel and expense reimbursement process and supporting systems a plus Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) designation is preferred, although not required

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEShould have familiarity with fairly complex accounting and payroll concepts, practices and procedures. Ability to manage multiple tasks to meeting payroll and accounting timelines. Organized self-starter with good problem-solving skills, strong analytical and mathematical skills, decision-making, and effective communication skills. Strong knowledge of federal, state regulations, and FLSA requirements. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, other departments and various management levels Professional, dependable, and proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
