Process end-to-end payroll for employees on a monthlycycle.
Validate timesheets, attendance, leaves, overtime, arrears, reimbursements, and deductions.
Ensure accuracy in salary calculations, including increments, bonuses, advances, recoveries, etc.
Prepare payroll inputs liaise with shared service / accounts for salary disbursement.
Maintain detailed payroll schedules reconciliation.
2. Statutory Compliance
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as
TDS, PF, ESI, PT, LWF
, gratuity provisions, and other relevant labour laws.
Prepare and submit statutory returns within prescribed timelines.
Coordinate audits / inspections related to payroll statutory compliance.
3. MIS Reporting
Prepare monthly payroll reports, variance analysis, cost centre reports, head count trackers, and other ad-hoc MIS.
Generate payroll dashboards for leadership with trends insights.
Share cost reports with Finance for month-end closing.
4. Payroll Data Management
Maintain payroll data with confidentiality integrity.
Ensure updates to employee master data (bank details, pay components, tax declarations).
Maintain digital files / archives for audit readiness.
5. Query Resolution
Act as primary point of contact for payroll queries from employees.
Resolve pay-related issues, provide clarifications, and follow up with cross-functional teams.
6. Process Improvement
Review payroll processes periodically for error reduction efficiency.
Support automation initiatives (ex: HRMS / payroll system enhancements).
7. Audit Documentation
Prepare and support internal/ external payroll audits.
Ensure proper documentation of payroll policies, SOPs, and control checklists.
