The Senior Executive - Payroll & Basic Accounting will manage monthly payroll operations, statutory compliances, and core accounting activities. The role requires independent handling of payroll processing, coordination with HR teams, review of accounting entries, and preparation of periodical reports. The candidate should be capable of working with minimal supervision and ensuring accuracy in financial and payroll records.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management
Independently handle end-to-end monthly payroll processing
Verify attendance, overtime, leave and on-duty records
Process salary components: earnings, deductions, incentives, arrears, reimbursements
Ensure timely salary disbursement and bank file preparation
Manage Full & Final settlements and gratuity calculations
Maintain confidentiality of salary and employee data
Statutory Compliance
Handle PF, ESIC, PT, TDS calculations and challans
Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly/annual statutory returns
Coordinate with auditors and labour consultants for compliance matters
Maintain compliance registers and documentation
Basic Accounting
Pass payroll-related accounting entries
Review ledgers, vendor payments, reimbursements and advances
Assist in Accounts Payable/Receivable
Perform bank reconciliations and petty cash accounting
Reporting & MIS
Prepare monthly payroll MIS and variance reports
Department-wise salary cost analysis
Assist in monthly closing and audit schedules
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of payroll systems & statutory laws
Hands-on experience with accounting software (Tally/SAP/Busy)
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot, basic formulas)
Accuracy with numbers and attention to detail
Ability to handle confidential information
Good communication and coordination skills
Education & Experience
B.Com / M.Com
3-6 years of experience in payroll & accounting
Experience in education/service industry preferred
