The Vice President, Product Management and Sales Support is a key member of the Merchant Services team leading the expansion of our business in India. As an individual contributor, they will leverage their expertise in the payments industry and technical acumen as well as awareness of fast evolving regulatory landscape and innovation in the market to develop and implement solutions for potential and existing JP Morgan clients. Combining product management responsibility with consultative sales expertise, this role will interface with internal banker and sales colleagues, clients and executives across JP Morgan businesses, external vendors and partners and internal technology team to bring merchant acquiring solutions to market. The successful applicant will have a track record of understanding client needs and translating them into actionable requirements documents. Candidates who have consistently solved complex technical problems to challenges facing merchants seeking to expand their payment acceptance capabilities within India will be well positioned to succeed in this role. This role will require a self-starter who is comfortable operating autonomously and serving as the country owner and in-country expert for both internal stakeholders and external clients. Passionate problem solvers experienced in the unique requirements that the Indian payment acceptance market presents will be afforded an opportunity to build out a new and important part of our product offering in the region. Job responsibilities Understanding the payment acceptance landscape in India and being able to translate that into comprehensive solutions for merchants Building requirements documents and managing the development of products and enhancements from conception to market-launch Understanding country-specific market and regulatory dynamics and ensuring their product(s) are built to those requirements Serving as the Merchant Services expert to support Commercial Bank, Investment Bank and Treasury Services teams during sales conversations Supporting the negotiation of contracts with partner banks, card processors, payment networks and other stakeholders Working with internal partners to ensure all control/compliance/risk activities are addressed during ongoing partner due diligence process Actively participate in RFP process for technical solution providers and local acquiring partners Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Technical expertise, specifically on payments APIs and supporting merchants through the adoption of payment APIs Proven track record of working with multi-national corporates to enable payment acceptance Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments Deep understanding of financials, mechanics of forecasting and variable sensitivity Existing relationships within the payment ecosystems (e.g. processors, card schemes, banks, acquirers, digital wallets, etc.) in India Experience managing third party partners within the payments ecosystem Experience delivering payments solutions in the Indian market for both CP and CNP channels Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 7-10 years product management experience in a payments-related business BS, BA from top tier undergraduate institution in a technical discipline graduate degree is a plus Fluent (both oral and written) English and Hindi language skills
