The Pattern Master is responsible for creating accurate garment patterns based on design sketches or samples, ensuring proper fit, grading, and production feasibility. The role requires expertise in pattern making, garment construction, and fabric behavior to ensure quality and consistency in production.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and prepare accurate patterns (manual or CAD-based) for new designs as per designer's specifications.
Analyze sketches, technical drawings, or samples to create base patterns.
Make pattern corrections and adjustments to achieve the desired fit and silhouette.
Perform grading for different sizes according to standard measurements.
Collaborate with designers, sampling, and production teams to ensure patterns are production-ready.
Conduct trial fittings and make necessary alterations for fit and comfort.
Ensure proper fabric consumption and lay planning.
Maintain and organize pattern archives for all approved designs.
Work closely with the cutting and stitching teams to ensure smooth production flow.
Ensure patterns meet quality, accuracy, and production efficiency standards.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of garment construction and pattern-making techniques.
Excellent understanding of fabrics, grainlines, shrinkage, and stretch.
Keen eye for detail, fit, and finishing.
Ability to work collaboratively with design and production teams.
Time management and organizational skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or Degree Garment Technology, or related field.
Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Pattern Master in apparel manufacturing or fashion house.
Experience in women's wear / ethnic wear / Indo western wear
